This December electronic music organisation PUSH will celebrate six years of setting the standard for techno events in Hong Kong by hosting the return to Volar of MARCEL FENGLER, a resident of the notorious Berlin club Berghain.

Over the past decade, Berghain has established itself as the nexus of the global techno movement, and standing alongside its legendary residents such as Ben Klock and Marcel Dettman is the mighty Marcel. He has been a resident of Berghain since the massive club opened in 2004, and has earned his reputation by spinning and producing techno that is pummeling but funky, serious but melodic, metallic but also very human.

On releases such as his fantastic Berghain 05 compilation and debut album Fokus (released on Berghain’s in-house label Ostgut Ton), Fengler has shown an ability to navigate through tempered, tense techno combined with bigger melodic moments. Apart from his releases on Ostgut Ton, Marcel also runs his own label, Index Marcel Fengler, which has released a range of gems that explore sonic landscapes populated by industrial grooves and stripped-down techno.

We’ve been dying to get Marcel back to Hong Kong since his debut gig with us in November 2013, where he took us on an extended journey through heavy shattered grooves and beaming, airy rhythms, so come prepared for a night of serious motherfucking techno.

Since being established in 2009, the artists PUSH have bought to Hong Kong are pretty much a Who’s Who of the global electronic underground elite, including Ben Klock, Dixon, Ame, Dave Clarke, Roman Flugel, Ben UFO, Pan-Pot and Carl Craig. Join us on December 4 as we celebrate six years of heavy tunes, crazy late nights, ringing ears, and love and respect for the local scene.
