After booking a one-way flight to Hong Kong from a small seaside town in England nearly 2 years ago, Derry Ainsworth, a 24 year old architecture graduate found himself immersed in the concrete jungle of Hong Kong.

Exploring his new surroundings, camera in hand, Derry was drawn to the rawness of the city and its complex architecture. Walking under the neon lights and exploring Hong Kong’s unique designs, inspired his focus on the relationship between the dark and the light, the shadows, the street lights and the people in them.

Developing a unique style, Derry’s work invites people to see the city with a new perception. His drastic perspectives and exaggerated viewpoints capture the visual chaos, the allure of the city and the uniqueness of Hong Kong.
