Sin City is proud to present the amazing... DODGY!
On Saturday 4th November Dodgy bring their infectious brand of Britpop to Sin City. Playing an acoustic set in an intimate venue, hear those nostalgic tracks like you never have before, up close and personal. With a top ten album and numerous top twenty tracks in their arsenal, expect a set packed with enough power pop to send you hurling back to the mid 90s and Cool Britannia.
Dodgy released their first studio album The Dodgy Album in 1993. It was not until the release of their third effort Free Peace Sweet in 1996 that they received critical acclaim, certifying platinum in the UK too. The band’s star rose and peaked in the later 90s, despite this they never stopped concerning themselves with social issues and were just the second UK act to grace a stage in Sarajevo (post lifting of the siege), playing the Kuk club in ’96.
They graced the cover of NME and played on the same bills as indie heavyweights such as Blur, Oasis, Pulp etc. The trio are Britpop cult heroes and are assured to bring a performance “Good Enough” to see you “Staying Out for the Summer”. Feeling Dodgy?
“Infectious, goofy punk - pop” which “ alternately sounded like the early Who and the Stone Roses” - Allmusic biographer Stephen Thomas Erlewine
