Party: Discover Sailing Day at Nedlands Yacht Club (FREE!)

Fun is just the start at the Discover Sailing Day taking place at Nedlands Yacht Club on Sunday 26 October 2014. The Club will be opening its doors and welcoming everyone to join them for a short sail with an experienced sailor and to find out how much fun you can have and how safe, accessible and affordable sailing can be.

If you’ve always wondered what sailing is all about, then this is the perfect opportunity to come and enjoy a free sail. We provide the boats and safety equipment - all you have to do is bring a sun hat, some sunscreen, a spare set of clothes and bucket loads of enthusiasm!

A dedicated Discover Sailing Host will welcome you to the Club, answer any questions about sailing and ensure you have an enjoyable day out with your friends or family. We recommend that you book in advance to secure your spot!
An initiative of Yachting Australia, the national sporting organisation for sailing and boating, the Discover Sailing program launched in September 2012 to encourage more people out onto the water and to enjoy the benefits of sailing through a variety of different experiences.

The Discover Sailing Day is a taster for those new to the sport to feel and experience what it’s like to be out on the water and to find out about their local Club and from there, they can participate in different experiences, courses and crewing opportunities. There are courses for everyone – from young to old, from the experienced to the new sailor and even kids as young as five can enjoy a sail with a parent or guardian.
