Party: Anna Massie and Mairearad Green at Montrose Folk Club

Next Thursday sees the welcome return to the Folk Club of Anna Massie and Mairearad Green.

As two of Scotland's most revered multi-instrumentalists, Mairearad Green, on Accordion and Bagpipes, and Anna Massie, on Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle and vocals, are a truly captivating duo. They provide a highly energetic performance with an instantly warm and friendly stage presence.

Although based now in Glasgow, Mairearad and Anna grew up in the Scottish Highlands amidst very similar musical backgrounds. As a duo they have enjoyed many successes, including a five-star review in The Scotsman and high praise from KT Tunstall, becoming a much-loved live act.

Mairearad and Anna have been award winners at the Scottish Trad Music Awards, the BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year Awards and at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

They can each individually be seen performing with a number of well known bands and artists, including The Poozies, Blazin' Fiddles, Bella Hardy and Box Club. Together they also join The Unusual Suspects, Scotland's one and only Celtic Big Band.
