Everyone's fate is made of many tales. Although our own destiny might be dwelling in our breast, it also takes strong convictions and the courage to challenge yourself. DJ, producer and label manager MARCEL FENGLER is the best example that talent isn’t just a matter of luck, but the will to believe in your own passions while constantly developing them. Today, Fengler has not only been quoted as „one of the finest techno DJs“ (Resident Advisor), he has earned international respect for his „well-crafted body of production work“ (FACT) introducing his unique and „multi-faceted personality“ (Electronic Beats). While growing up, he was first fascinated by the hip-hop culture, breakdance, and graffiti art, Fengler’s interest shifted towards techno music and the art of DJing after the Berlin wall came down. As a vinyl nerd he began playing records during the early nineties. By witnessing Claude Young mixing with three record players, Fengler followed his path merging both hearts in his chest: turntablism and techno. Carried away by the magic and the togetherness of the first hardcore and trance raves in clubs like E-Werk or Tresor, he organized his own parties in his hometown Fürstenwalde with his childhood friend Marcel Dettmann. Bringing together both his melodic groove and beat tracks and his straighter cuts, he founded his own imprint Marcel Fengler Index (IMF) in 2011 – a platform that not only continues evolving his timeless techno approach but represents a creative center introducing new and young talents. A logical step for an artist who’s always interested in looking beyond his own nose represented by his project DIN, the mutual collaboration with Philipp Sollmann (Efdemin), for the contemporary dance project „Masse“ of the Staatsballett Berlin. www.facebook.com/MarcelFengler

A new force in U.S. techno has emerged. In 2015, MATRIXXMAN's debut concept album “Homesick” on Ghostly International received critical acclaim from the likes of The Quietus and Resident Advisor. Meanwhile on the 12″ front, a barrage of no less than 12 separate EP’s within a two-year period ultimately secured him a home with Dutch tastemakers Dekmantel. Both his production and DJ style deftly run the gamut from frenetic percussive workouts to more emotive, euphoric ends of the spectrum. Sci-fi and futuristic narratives heavily inform the body of his work allowing him to transcend the limitations of any one particular genre. His music has been played by Jeff Mills, DVS1, Levon Vincent, Rødhåd, D.B.X, DJ Qu, Anthony Parasole, Joey Anderson, Richie Hawtin, and Larry Heard, among many others. www.facebook.com/matrixxman

Amsterdam-based DJ/producer and founder of the Format label JUAN SANCHEZ has been considered a crowd favorite for years in the international techno community. Promoters across the globe have already called on Juan’s signature sound: stripped-down, powerful techno designed for peak time hours at mainstages as well as more intimate settings. Juan has performed in a wide variety of venues and festivals including Berghain (DE), D-Edge (BR), Club4 (ES), Shankeys (Ibiza), Awakenings, HYTE and Time Warp, to name but a few. Aside from performing, Juan is frequently on studio lockdown, having
released numerous cuts on labels such as Stockholm Ltd, Wolfskuil and Drumcode Ltd. amongst many others. Furthermore, Juan also curates his own label Format Records. Its releases have seen warm welcomes from artists worldwide, including Ben Sims, Speedy J, Oscar Mulero, Luke Slater, DVS1, Laurent Garnier and others. With plenty of gigs and new projects lined up for 2017, including a special various artist LP on his imprint, Juan continues to push techno boundaries. www.facebook.com/juansanchez.amsterdam
