DRUNK MUMS
--------------------------
You’d be hard pressed to find someone that’s into rock and roll and not into a Drunk Mums record. It’s well written, raw and most importantly free of pretension.
‘Nanganator’ is a brazen two minutes of fast beats and ball-busting rhythms, with an infectious chorus that begs to be heard live. Written and sang by guitarist Jake 'Dingo' Doyle, the song is a stew of grunge, punk and rowdy Aussie rock.
'Plastic' - the band’s previous single from their forthcoming LP – saw the group play sold out shows across the country this year, as well as support slots with The Bohicas, Dune Rats and more. The track was added to rotation on triple j along with solid support from Triple R, PBS, fbi, 4ZZZ, RTR FM & more.
Drunk Mums are known for their rowdy stage theatrics along with their unique take on Aussie garage/slacker rock. Since the release of their debut self-titled record in 2012, they have shared stages with the likes of Guitar Wolf, Cosmic Pyschos, Straight Arrows and more, as well as experiencing worldwide exposure for their song ‘Chitty Chitty’, which was the backing track for the YouTube hit ‘Dragon Baby’ (28 million views). This year has marked the band’s return, with ‘Plastic’ already entering a list of ‘best-of’s’, including a #2 position in Beat Magazine’s ‘Top 10 Singles Of 2014 So Far’.
In celebration of ‘Nanganator’, Drunk Mums will storm stages nation-wide, with their biggest tour yet kicking off from the end of October.
