Dimestore Prophets are simply a ray of sunshine. Since starting out in 2009 (after a studio collaboration), the trio are known for producing “Feel Good Music” across the Pacific Northwest, dribbling in a bit of pop, groove/rock and reggae. Each player brings a unique approach to their musical role in the band with Influences ranging from Bob Marley, Sublime to the Clash and the Dirty Heads. Vocalist and guitarist Ray Glover brings in the gutsy, rock steady vocals and light, lazing-the-summer guitar riffs which is accompanied by John Wilson’s cheerful and uplifting drumming and bassist Eric Groff’s head-bopping drive. Their latest EP “Be Yourself”, appropriately released in spring of 2014, is bursting with fun and energy that’s guaranteed to lift and warm the soul. The lead single, which shares the name of the EP, definitely lives up to the promise of delivering the feel-good factor with encouraging lyrics that’s geared towards self-improvement.
