Party: Cruising Dinner - Up the Irrawaddy
Main page > Royal Victoria Yacht Club > Cruising Dinner - Up the Irrawaddy
Open to members and their guests.
The Irrawaddy River bisects Myanmar, once known as Burma. It’s Myanmar’s main transportation artery. David and Marianne Scott took a river cruise on a small ship, with only 50 passengers and will tell RVYC members about this unique adventure.
Amazingly, the Irrawaddy Explorer, a 188-foot river cruiser had fewer navigational instruments than their own sv Beyond the Stars. The Scotts will reveal what it takes for the ship’s crew to navigate an ever-changing river, how the Myanmarese live, how religion overwhelmingly shapes their lives, and the beauties—and troubles—of this mysterious land.
Open to members and their guests. Pre-registration required. Please register on the club website or by calling the office at 250-592-2441
