Prepare to Power Move...with Dirty Feet Dance (11-21)
Thursday 24 September 5-7pm
Dancefest, The Angel Centre, Worcester, WR1 3QN
£12
In a fast paced and energetic two-hour workshop, dancers will learn how to safely perform breakdance power moves, which use speed and acrobatics, and feature spins, handstand and windmill moves.
Hereford-based Dirty Feet Dance Company was founded by Daniel ‘Didge’ Ovel in 2010. Didge studied at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds and has since toured the UK and Europe as a professional dancer. His work is highly physical and uses a mix of urban and contemporary dance styles.
This workshop would be perfect for anyone who’s learned the basics of street and breakdance and wants to develop and try out new skills. It costs £12 to take part but is included in the term fee for our weekly Urban Boys and Urban Girls classes.
After the workshop there’ll be an opportunity for participants to perform at a breakdance battle on Saturday 14 November in Newport.
Weekly Urban Dance classes at Dancefest
Dancefest also runs weekly urban dance classes on Thursdays at The Angel Centre, which start back for the autumn term on 17 September. They're taught by Fi Hay, who has arranged this very special workshop following requests from people who took part last term.
