Party: Amela at Deck Acoustics

Live music, great food, water front views and awesome service - The Deck Creek Side
Amela performs at Deck Acoustics. Proudly brought to you by Footstomp Music and Currumbin RSL.

Amela is a singer/songwriter based in Queensland, Australia. Taking inspiration from artists Feist, The Shins and Jose Gonzales, Amela brings together a mix of classic songwriting and playful melodies backed up by multi-part harmonies. In addition to this, the Bosnian-born songwriter has a more sombre, reflective side, influenced by the music of artists such as Bon Iver and Nick Drake.

Her debut EP Not Enough Honey which was released in August, 2014, gained a considerable amount of hype. Internationally renowned Music blog, The Wild Honey Pie described Amela’s music as ‘spellbinding’ and was featured on their website. The EP was also reviewed by Brisbane’s AAA, The Music Magazine, Brisbane’s 4ZZZ and Gold Coast’s BLANK magazine, and was played on high rotation on Triple J’s Unearthed Radio and Gold Coast’s Rabbit Radio.

Amela’s most known single Come Home has over 25,000 plays on YouTube and has been featured on radio stations around Eastern Europe and South East Australia. She was awarded a finalist songwriter for the Telstra’s Road to Tamworth competition in 2011. Amela has performed at various venues around Australia such as Tamworth Entertainment Centre, Brisbane Powerhouse, Gold Coast Arts Centre, and various music venues around South East region, including The Old Museum, The Zoo, Black Bear Lodge and New Globe Theatre.
2015 is appearing to be an exciting year for Amela as she promises to release several singles as well as a couple of EP’s and a more extensive national tour.
