O.T. Genasis, originaire de Californie il est pris en main par Busta Rhymes qui l'aide à percer dans le millieu du rap americain, il sort une premiere mixtape intitulée "Black Belt" 2012.
Vient ensuite World We Live In, toujours au format mixtape, en 2014.
Mais c'est principalement avec son titre « Coco » qu'il se fait connaitre mondialement en novembre 2014.
