Australian sisters, Erin & Tess Fowler – SITARA – from Adelaide, take a lifetime of shared experience and create music that resonates with emotion and honesty. Sitara, meaning two divine stars in the sky, features smooth vocal harmonies, soul swamp guitar and piano, and their music embodies earthiness, honesty and sublime song writing qualities. Having recently
performed at the WOMADelaide Festival in Australia with their full five-piece band, Erin and Tess are now excited to travel across the seas, as a duo, to bring their music to the UK, including the Edinburgh Fringe and for BBC Glasgow, for the very first time.

Great vocal harmonies with backing from Erin’s guitar and Tess on occasional piano proved that they are more than capable of doing it for themselves. Some very good original songs too, from the opener “Oh Mama” and single “In the Water” to the memorable “Glass Table” and “Surrender to Sin”. It was the powerful, soulful vocals that swept the gig along, though, and full marks for a triumphant version of Prince’s
